Erik James Hall, 35, remarkable son, brother, and uncle passed away Friday, March 25, 2011.
He was born April 11, 1975, in Las Vegas, Nevada to James M. Hall and Kathryn J. Purdy Hall.
Erik graduated from Weber High School in 1993. He was a gifted high school athlete who excelled in football, track and skiing. At the young age of 19, he was involved in a tragic skiing accident. Although this incident limited his capabilities, his spirit and positive attitude never wavered. Erik was a stalwart example of righteous living and had a deeply rooted testimony. Erik''s attitude and outlook on life was an example to all those who were around him. Erik had a contagious smile and outgoing personality. Erik''s greatest joy was spending time with all of his nieces and nephews. Erik participated in many civic and charitable endeavors, serving as an ambassador for those with disabilities. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all the many loving healthcare providers over the last 17 years.
Erik is survived by his sisters, Raina (William) Hall, Melisa (Brian) Yoachum; his nieces and nephews, Kerstie, Caitlyn and Robert Hall; Ashley, Tyson and Cameron Yoachum; grandparents, Ralph M. and Verla J. Purdy, grandpa, William Eighmy, and many uncles, aunts and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 31st at 2 p.m. at the Harrisville 1st Ward Chapel, 435 W. Harrisville Rd.
The family will meet friends Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. and Thursday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the church.
Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at any Wells Fargo Bank under Erik Hall and Family Fund.
