Erma B. Andersen passed away Thursday, April 28, 2011.

She was born May 16, 1918 in Uintah, Utah to Alma L. Bambrough and Sarah Kendell. She grew up in Cornish, Cache Valley, Utah, graduating from North Cache High school in Richmond, Utah. She attended Utah State University and Weber State College.

On June 23, 1937, Erma married J. Forsgren Andersen in the Logan LDS Temple. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in the Primary, Sunday School, Relief Society, and for many years participated in the extracting program of the Church. She served a mission to Bangkok, Thailand with her husband, a highlight of her life.

Erma volunteered at McKay-Dee Hospital and the Union Station for many years. She enjoyed traveling, making quilts and crocheting afghans.

She worked at the Ogden Arsenal, Utah Canning Company, St. Benedict''s Hospital and retired from Hill Air Force Base.

Erma is survived by her five children, Julian (Coleen) Andersen, Steven (Lorraine) Andersen, all of Washington; Jean (Dennis) Chamberlain, Anne (Tony) Connelly, all of Ogden; Janis (Ron) Farran, of California; and adopted family, Khuong (Minhdan) Thach, of Farmington; a sister, Joye Boman, of Bountiful; 18 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one grandson, one sister and one brother.

The family would like to thank IHC Hospice and Legacy House for their dedicated care of our mother.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 14th at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

The family will meet with friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Brigham City Cemetery.
