Ernest Ray Nicholls
LIVINGSTON, Montana a" Ernest R. Nicholls, 87, passed away Thursday, November 6, 2008 at 3:00 a.m. under the loving care of his daughter, Sandy Mushrush, in Livingston, MT.
Ernie was born September 13, 1921 in Border, Wyoming, a son of Fred H. and Lillian S. Tragaskis Nicholls. He was raised in the small town of Cokeville, Wyoming where he attended school and graduated from the local high school. He served with the U.S. Navy in World War II where he received an honorable discharge.
Ernie met his eternal sweetheart, Maxien L. Wilson, and they were married on May 21, 1949 in Paris, Idaho. They were later sealed for Time and All Eternity in the Logan LDS Temple along with their four children.
Ernie was employed by Continental Baking Company where he retired at age 65. He was an active member in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in many capacities. His favorite calling was to serve in the Ogden Temple where he served for many years alongside his wife.
Ernie loved his family greatly, and most of his free time was spent serving his family. He spent countless times playing with his grandchildren at his recreation spot at Sour Dow Ranch. He also loved to bowl, golf, and woodworking.
Ernie is survived by his children, Fred Nicholls, Ogden; Sandy (Terry) Mushrush, Livingston, MT; Tom (Diane) Nicholls, Harrisville; Doug (Esper) Nicholls, Clearfield; grandchildren, Tony (Kyle) Tarvin, Nicky Hilliard, Wendy (Bobby) Cain, Thom (Denie) Mushrush, Dan Mushrush, Heather (Charlton) Pino, Terri Lynn (Aaron) Busby, Kelly (Amos) Knight, Penni (J.R.) Jordan, Stephanie (Jason) Hicken, T.J. Nicholls, Brian Nicholls, Alicia (Will) Tumulty, Ray Nicholls, and 24 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are one brother, Orville Nicholls, Douglas, WY; one sister, Florence Eleanor Nelson, Kaysville; four brothers-in-law, Frank (Gay) Wilson, Roy; Don (Beth) Wilson, South Weber; George Deboer, Ogden; Darrell Olsen, Washington Terrace.
He was preceded in by his loving wife, Maxien, his parents, two sisters, two brothers, four brothers-in-law, four sisters-in-law, one daughter-in-law, and one grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
