Ernest Lloyd Sillitoe
August 4, 1920 ~ January 22, 2018
Ernest Lloyd Sillitoe, age 97 (and a half), passed away peacefully on Monday, January 22, 2018 in the privacy of his home. He was born on August 4, 1920 in Clear Creek, UT to John and Victoria Sillitoe.
He enjoyed serving in the temple in recent years and was proud to be able to stay in the home he custom built for the love of his life and his family up until his passing.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucile Henzi; his daughter, Susan; and his grandson, Little John.
Ernie is survived by his son, Terry (Kim) Sillitoe; his daughters, Julie (Lon) Thayn and Karen Ruelas; 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. His legacy is one of service, kindness, patience, and a willingness to always do his best.
As a young man he served in the Army Air Corps in World War II. He was sealed to Lucile and his children in 1973 in the Ogden Temple. He owned his own blind and drapery business for over 50 years and was beloved by all he served and worked with. Many of his fondest memories were created while elk hunting with family. We will all miss him greatly and are grateful for his lifelong example of patience, endurance and love.
Thanks to Heather and Rhoda and all of the Envision Team for their tender care.
