We cannot always choose whom we fall in love with, only what we do with that gift when it comes our way. Ernie and I were so very fortunate to know love and lust throughout the good times and the bad. We would have been together 32 years on December 8th. He had been employed at Hill Air Force Base for many years, where he worked on the Minute Man and the Titan Missiles. He retired in 1990. Ernie was a big, vibrant man who loved working with his hands. Loved his yard and grew beautiful flowers. He was fascinated with history, archaeology, geography, the palaeolithic era and all the sciences. Always surrounded himself with music and he loved to travel. We ate out quite a lot and he always enjoyed making friends and strangers laugh.
Surviving are his widow Marci of Kaysville and six children; Marc Zaring of Florence, CO; Eric Zaring (Debbie) of Richland, WA; Suzanne Stradley (Stan) of Hermiston, OR; Rick Zaring (Brooke) of Clinton, Utah; Denise Haller (Roberto) of Tehachapi, CA; Cheri Kohler (Quinn) of Columbia, PA. Also surviving is his brother Malon Webster (Lorraine) of Layton. He was preceded in death by a brother, a daughter and a son.
We wish to thank all of his doctors, especially Dr. Kevin Gardner and Dr. Arif Chowdhury. All the caring nurses in the Critical Care Unit at Davis Hospital. Everyone there was so very kind to both of us. Due to our wishes, no services will be held. We ask that you lift a beverage of your choice to his memory and passing. Always knew we''d never have enough time and we didn''t.
"Small said, "but what about when we are dead and gone. Will you love me then, does love go on?'' Large held Small snug as they looked out at the night, at the moon in the dark and the stars shining bright. "Small, look at the stars, how they shine, how they glow, some of the stars died a long time ago. Still they shine in the evening skies for you to see, Small, love like starlight never dies... "
