Dewayne was born July 26, 1952 in Springdale, Arkansas to Robert L. and Shirley Jo Wolfe and passed from this earth on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at the age of 62.
In his earlier years, between 1971 and 1975, Dewayne was involved with family plumbing businesses, the last being Wolfe & Sons Plumbing in Rogers, Arkansas. In 1975, Dewayne moved to Fullerton, California where he worked in the plumbing, heating and air conditioning fields until 1984 when he became Director of Facilities Management for California State University Long Beach, retiring in 2003 after 19 years of service.
In September 2003, Dewayne married Celestine “Tine” Elliott in Clearfield, Utah. They made their home in Bristow, Oklahoma for over 8 years and later moved to Farr West, Utah. Dewayne and Tine had been happily married for almost 11 years.
Dewayne very much enjoyed fishing, traveling, playing games with his family, watching NASCAR, and doing mission work for his church and was busier after he retired than before. He was a large part of the rebuilding of Clearfield Community Church after it burned down.
Dewayne was preceded in death by his father Robert L. (2012) and mother Shirley Jo (2013). He is survived by his loving wife Celestine Wolfe, Farr West, UT, 2 sons Ayton (Amy) Wolfe Hart, Collinsville, IL, Noel (Michelle) Hart, Sanford, FL, 1 daughter Sandy (Adam) Stack, Medford, OR, 5 grandchildren Jacob, Ryan, Zachery, Cole and Elizabeth, 1 sister Ladonna Muir, Claremore, OK, sister-in-law Christine (Robert) Rebmann, Farr West, UT, loving cousins, nephews and a niece, who said these awesome last words about her uncle: “My Uncle Dee was an amazing, caring, giving, unselfish man, the kind that would give you the shirt off his back without even thinking about it. He could come off a little stern, but everything he did always came from his giant, loving and warm heart. He took everything that came his way with such strength and I personally have never heard him complain about anything, ever. He has been a pillar of every community he’s lived in and so many people have looked up to him in his life. I know that what I will take from him is how to give without wanting anything in return and how to remember to always tell the people in your life how much you love them because they may not be here tomorrow.”
Dewayne requested no memorial service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society or his home church, Clearfield Community Church 525 East 200 South, Clearfield, UT 84015.
Arrangements entrusted to Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary 1867 N. Fairfield Road, Layton, UT.
