Ernestine “Tina” E. Rivera Hernandez
Ernestine “Tina” E. Rivera Hernandez passed away surrounded by family and friends July 2, 2012. She left her tired and broken body here on earth to be with her Heavenly Father. She was born July 6, 1938 to Jose E. Rivera and Dolores Brito.
She attended elementary school in Monte Vista, CO, Mound Fort Jr. High and Ben Lomond High School in Ogden, UT. She worked and retired from St Benedicts, aka Ogden Regional Hospital, in the NIC Unit for many enjoyable years. She enjoyed fishing and camping, knitting, arts and crafts, and especially her family.
Tina is survived by her husband, friend, and soul mate Armando R Hernandez; children from first marriage to Gary J McCrary: Wanda (Jerry) Hendricks, Gary B McCrary, Christy (Simon) Perez, Catherine (Dana) Goddard, and Shelva (Scott) Gaudette; stepchildren: Armando (Connie) Hernandez, Rick (Bunny) Hernandez, and Ray (Angela) Hernandez ; eight grandchildren; twelve step grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren; eighteen stepgreat- grandchildren; brother Harold Rivera of Lander Wyoming and sister Priscilla (Tony) Garcia of Monte Vista, CO
She was proceeded in death by her parents, several brothers, and sister, one son in-law, several nieces and nephews; and her most precious four legged children Chico and Sammy Hernandez.
A Mass will be held on Friday, July 6, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 514 24th St. Friends may visit family on Thursday from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. with Rosary at 6:30 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
We want to give special thanks to all of the individuals who helped care for our mom in her last couple of months, her lifelong childhood friend Alverta Gibson, her really good friend Shirley Valencia, Licha Bali and Vista Care Hospice. By helping our mom you also helped her family by just being there. She will be missed by all those that had the privilege to know her.
