Estiel 'Andy' Jackson

Estiel 'Andy' Jackson, MSgt USAF (Ret) passed away peacefully in his home on Monday at age 84.  He was surrounded in love by his sons, their wives, and his grandchildren.

Born and raised in El Dorado Arkansas, he was the youngest of 7 children born to C.P. and Ruth Jackson.  He entered military service after graduation, joined the United States Air Force and served 22 years, rising to the rank of Master Sergeant in Explosive Ordinance Disposal. He retired from military service in 1973 a veteran of Korea, Vietnam, and stateside service. On retirement they settled in a lake home in Arkansas where he worked in the oil drilling industry, steel rolling industry, and construction.  In 1984 they retired again to Layton, Utah.

He married the love of his life, JoAnn Lundahl of Wakefield Nebraska in 1959 in Denver.  They were married 53 years, living together in Colorado, Alaska, Wisconsin, Arkansas, and Utah.  They had 3 boys and 12 grandchildren.   Andy had a special love for family, friends and caregivers, and was a trusted advisor to many.

He was as much a builder as a demolitions expert.  He finished homes, built countless inventions, and took special joy to lead the remodeling of their church home, Light of the Valley Lutheran Church in Layton.  Along the way he built up the lives of those around him.  He used to say "If a person can do it, then YOU can too."  He was a living demonstration of that.

He is survived by 3 sons: Michael of Sandy UT, Wade of Fort Worth TX. and Lance of West Jordan UT.   Also surviving are 12 grandchildren: Ariel, Caitlin, Andrew, Tyson, Samuel, Lillianne, London, Ryder, Kayah, Lacy Jay, Caleb and Riley.

Preceding him in death were his wife JoAnn, his parents, and his 6 siblings. Andy and JoAnn are together again at long last.
