Ethel Mae Green Christensen died peacefully, Friday, January, 10, 2014 surrounded by her family. She was born in Ogden, Utah to Joseph Henry Wright and Norma Ionia Hill. Mae was raised and educated in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School in 1948. Mae married Robert Keith Green on February 14, 1950 in the Salt Lake City Temple. They were later divorced. She married Ronald Louis Christensen on December 29, 1973. Their marriage was solemnized on June 21, 2008 in the Ogden Temple. She worked at Algamated Sugar as a secretary and had beautiful short-hand. She worked at the Bon Marche and also was a buyer for the store and enjoyed her many trips to New York to purchase clothing for the store. She also worked at Lamont’s in Layton. Mae was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held numerous callings over the years. Mae was an accomplished singer and she performed with Bell Conto Singers and the Ogden Symphonic Choir. She and Ron were able to sing at many events together. She enjoyed going up to St. Charles for family reunions and sitting by the fire. She also enjoyed traveling with her trailer and going on cruises. Mae is survived by her loving husband, Ronald; daughters, Cindy Lee (Garry) LaRose of Roy and Wanda VanDyke of Sandy Valley, NV; sons, Michael Keith (Celia) Green of Evanston, WY and Ronald (Laurie) Christensen of North Ogden; sister, Ione (Benny) Wells of Airway Heights, WA; 12 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Louise Peterson; and daughter, Koni Green. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Roy 13th Ward Chapel, 5127 South 2400 West. Friends may visit family on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South, and Thursday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Roy City Cemetery. A special thanks to Brenda and Martha of Summit Hospice for Mom’s care.
