Ethel Jones Rhoades Kirch

Ethel Jones Rhoades Kirch, 83, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2016. She was born on September 14, 1932 in Brigham City, Utah, to Iris Richard and Anna Laura Hodges Jones. Ethel was raised in Brigham City and Ogden and attended Weber High School.
She married Cecil Rhoades in Elko, Nevada on September 24, 1949 and they later divorced and remained close friends. Ethel married William Kirch and he passed away in April of 1995.
Ethel was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She was the co-founder of the Ogden Vocational Center (ATC), and employed as the Education Administrator for 28 years.
She was an avid artist.
Ethel is survived by her children, Cecil Jr. (Robin) Rhoades, North Ogden; Rod (Merry) Rhoades, North Ogden; Iris (Jim) Wheeler, Roy; Marie (Larry) Clay, Hazard, Kentucky; and Eric (Teresia) Roberson, Clearfield; brothers, Glenn, Kay, Ray, and William; and sisters, Donna May Zarse and Louise Stamey. She was preceded in death by her children, Melvin and Kelly; brothers, John and Allen; and sister, Sharlene Dickamore.
Cremation services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
The obituary will run in the Standard on Sunday, April 2, 2016.
