Eugene Keith Hancock 1932-2012

Bountiful - Eugene Keith Hancock (80) passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at the University of Utah Hospital following an accidental fall.

Keith was born August 17, 1932 in Mancos, Colorado to Lewis Alma and Jennie Jensen Hancock. He married LaRita Rees on February 2, 1951 in the Salt Lake Temple. They have been happily married for 62 years and had eight children.

Keith is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Jay and Elden; and children Linda, Steve, and Vaughn. He is survived by his wife LaRita; sister, Arleta Joy (Bob) Stevenson; sister-in-law Joanne Hancock; children Eldon (Vicki) Hancock, Phoenix, AZ; Jeanie (John) Offret, American Fork, UT; Judy (Mark) Williams, West Jordan, UT; Dave (Kiz) Hancock, Riverton, UT and Gene Hancock, Bountiful, UT. He was blessed with 24 grandchildren: Vaughn, Lutisha, Mark, John, Chris, Staci, Brandon, Steven, Ammon, David, Kenny, Kyle, Jamie, Jason, Shane, Zac, Jake, Mike, Nathan, Kami, Lance, Brad, Ashley, and Jacob; and 39 great-grandchildren. He greatly loved all his posterity and they absolutely adored him in return. He will be greatly missed.

Keith worked for Hill Air Force Base for 37 years. He actively served in the church all his adult years and especially enjoyed his time serving as the ward membership clerk for over 30 years. He enjoyed spending time at the cabin he built and shared with every member of his family. Service to others defined his life.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 8, 2012 at the Oak Hills Ward Chapel, 455 S. 1200 E., Bountiful, UT. Friends may visit family Wednesday, Nov. 7th from 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. and Thurs. from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the church. Interment Lakeview Cemetery, Bountiful, Utah
