Eugene H. Jacobsen “Jake”

Eugene H. Jacobsen “Jake” age 95 passed away February 8, 2018 in Layton, Utah.  He was born April 24, 1922 in Salt Lake City to Engvold H. and Angelena Perri Jacobsen.  He married the love of his life, Pauline Shumway September 15, 1951 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Jake served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1946 and was a Seaman 1st Class in WWII.  He and his family lived in Ogden and Layton, Utah, and Mesquite, Nevada.  He was a Free Mason and belonged to the Shriners.  He loved summers at his cabin at Panguitch Lake, tending to his yard, and loving his animals.

Jake was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline, and sons Michael, Scott and Mark Jacobsen.  He is survived by his daughter Becky (Peter) Puglia, son Kent (Robyn) Jacobsen, many grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 North Fairfield Road.  Friends may visit with family from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
