Eugene “Paul” Jaroch, Jr. of Ogden, Utah passed away unexpectedly, yet peacefully, at his home on September 7, 2023 at the age of 77 years old. He was born in San Francisco, California on March 12, 1946 to Eugene Jaroch of Michigan and Dorothy Kill of Kansas.

He grew up in Castro Valley, California and then moved to Oakland, California where he graduated from St. Elizabeth High School.

Paul joined the United States Air Force in 1966 and served in Vietnam as a Sergeant, specializing in communications. After returning from Vietnam, Paul resided in California where he began working for the United States Government at the Postal Service. Then he went on to work at the Long Beach, California Naval Shipyard. Then ultimately landed to work at the Department of Defense, where he ended his career on his favorite project: The International Space Station.

In retirement, Paul moved to Ogden, Utah where he felt enamored with the people, scenery, and fantastic driving roads for his beloved British and German cars. He was a friend to everyone, and always enjoyed his favorite hangout “Steiny’s”.

Paul is survived by his daughter and son in-law, Margot and Cliff Johnson; grandchildren, Sias and Olivia Schaafsma; brothers, Peter and Steven Jaroch; and sister, Suzanne Lizotte. He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Paul Jaroch; and his mother, Dorothy Jaroch.

Paul will be deeply missed by all.
