Eugene LaVine

Eugene LaVine Eugene LaVine was born August 1, 1935 in Minnesota to Herbert and Josephine LaVine. The family moved to Utah in 1944. His father passed away when he was 11 years old. At such a young age, he became the man of the family. He graduated with honors from Davis High School in 1953. He worked for Hill Air Force Base until he retired in 1991. He loved airplanes and flying. He had a pilot’s license and was a Flight Instructor. He spent his time designing and building hand held airplanes; starting with gilders and advancing to remote controlled. He is a member of Wasatch Aero Modelers (WAM). He was a loving brother and uncle. Survived by his sister Joanne Simmons and nieces and nephews: Cathy Christensen, Jolene Hanline, Julie Knighton, Jason Simmons, Kevin LaVine, Sherma Miles and Dana Herdt. Memorial services will be held Monday, December 30, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main. Friends may visit family Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Inurnment, Kaysville City Cemetery, next to his brother Jon.
