Eugenia Geffas Piersanti passed away Friday, September 11, 2009 surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born December 2, 1912, the daughter of Theodore and Katie Geffas. She was raised in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School in 1930.

On April 6, 1935, Eugenia married Nano R. Piersanti. He preceded her in death on September 18, 1975. Their marriage was solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple on April 21, 1977.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the 32nd and 49th Ogden Wards. She worked in the Ogden LDS Temple for many years, served as secretary for the Mutual Improvement Association for 23 years, and served faithfully as a visiting teacher of the Relief Society for several years. She was chairman of the Special Interest for single women for 14 years and a member of the Latter-day Saints Gospel Study Club for a number of years.

Eugenia was active as a room mother chairman for the P.T.A. and in her early years she was a member of the South Ogden Kiwanis Auxillery.

She was employed as a cashier for American Food, Grand American, May Fair Market and Smith''s Food King for 20 years. She retired in 1977.

She left this earth after giving and especially receiving much love from all of her wonderful family, friends and her dear neighbor, Marjorie Bigler. Eugenia was loved by all who knew her, and was affectionately loved by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Eugenia was preceded in death by her husband and two sisters, Mary Kaattari and Eva Farley.

She is survived by her two cherished daughters, Mrs. Gilbert (Mary Jean) Wright, McCall ID; Mrs. Michael (Linda) Hales-Sutch, Eagle, ID; a sister, Mrs. Kathleen Petersen, Ogden; eight grandchildren 16 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren, whom she loved very much.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 15th at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

Friends and family may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
