Eva Gaylene Baker

April 4, 1941 ~ July 25, 2022

Eva Gaylene Baker passed away with family by her side on Monday, July 25, 2022 to be with her brother, James Burt and their mom and dad, James and Ardis Burt. She was born on April 4, 1941. She touched everyone she met. Truly a pure soul and loved her life. She loved to boat, camp, and ride motorcycles.

She owned two art studios in Ogden for years, Gaylene’s studio of Art where she taught oil paints, colored pencils and charcoal drawings. She sold hundreds of her artwork. She sold her paintings mostly in West Yellowstone and Jackson Hole or any place she could along the way.

She loved to sing karaoke, she was a better performer than singer J, loved to play darts and poker. Her and dad would team up sometimes and mostly won as a team.

Dad (Boyd L. Baker) bought Mim’s Bar and Grill in Corinne, UT in the late 80’s and once again winning hearts and friends. Most that came in call them mom and dad and not once did any of them give them any trouble…..no one dared to. Her artwork is still on the wall there.

She was loved as an artist, mother, wife, sister and daughter.

Gaylene is survived by her husband of 60+ years of marriage, Boyd L. Baker; her son, Michael Wade Baker; and her younger brother, Bruce Burt.

A huge thanks to everyone at The Lodge in North Ogden. Everyone there did everything they could to make her feel loved and happy, fixed her oatmeal the way she liked or to dance around when they would check on her. Whatever they could to get a smile!

No flowers at the service, but if you have one of her paintings please bring it! We are having one last art show.
