Eva Gean Campbell Ekstrom
July 19, 1924 ~ March 1, 2022
Our dear sweet mother returned to her Heavenly Father and loving husband on March 1, 2022. Eva Gean was born to Franklin and Rachel Judkins Campbell in North Ogden, on July 19, 1924.
She was married to Elmer Empey Ekstrom on December 4, 1942 in the Salt Lake Temple. They had four children, Diane Ekstrom, Steve Ekstrom, Cheryl (Ron) Smith, and Becky (Kirk) Rigby.
Eva Gean was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions. She was always a great example to her children. As a young mother she worked as a dental assistant for many years and then went on to work for Weber County School District.
Eva Gean and Elmer took in many foster children and became certified to take in specialized foster children. Eva Gean and Elmer loved fishing and boating and went on many adventures. She loved quilting and made thousands of quilts by hand and then on her quilting machine. She never charged for any of them and donated many.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Elmer Empey Ekstrom and daughter, Diane Ekstrom. She had a posterity which includes numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at 2 p.m. at the Ben Lomond Cemetery, North Ogden. Friends may visit with family on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make a donation to your local Alzheimer’s Organization.
