Eva Lorrette Gertge
SALT LAKE CITY - Eva Lorrette (Chartier) Gertge, 88, died on Feb 7, 2009, at her home in Cottonwood Heights Utah. Eva Gertge was born on Feb 13, 1920 in Campbell, Nebraska. She was the younger of two children born to Joseph D. and Georgina (Gagnon) Chartier. Eva was raised in the farming community of Peetz, Colorado. After graduating nursing school at mercy Hospital in Denver, Colorado she married Adam Gertge Jr. on Feb 14, 1944. They began their married life and family in Northeastern Colorado where all of their ten children were born.
Eva, a very devout Catholic enjoyed nursing, gardening, home making, and child nurturing. Eva Gertge is survived by eight children, Eva Marie Jackson, Adam (Karen) Gertge, Jeanne (Lyle) Olson, Joe (Neilene) Gertge, Jerry (Joan) Gertge, Don (Sylvia) Gertge, Ed (Arlene) Gertge, and Annette Gertge. Also surviving are 32 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren. Other important loved ones include her brother''s children Janet, Linda, Kathy, Mary, Theresa, Patty, Bernadette, Joe, and many other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death, by her husband, Adam, sons, Andrew Gertge and George Gertge, as well as three grandchildren, Randy Gertge, Tara Gertge, and Tami Lynn Gertge, brother, Victor Chartier and sister-in-law Rita Chartier. Funeral Directors Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 North Fairfield Road. A memorial service will be held at St. Vincent''s de Paul Church on Tuesday, February 10, at 11:00 AM (1375 E.
