Evan Brough Hellstrom
OGDEN a" Evan B. Hellstrom was greeted in Heaven by his wife Jennie on Wednesday, June 22, 2011.
He was born in Randolph, Utah, on January 4, 1925 to Leonard and Luella Hellstrom. He was the last of six boys. He graduated from South Rich High School in 1943. He later served with the U.S. Army during World War II rebuilding Japan.
Evan met and married the love of his life, Jennie Mae Henning, on November 18, 1949. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan Temple on September 15, 1952.
Evan was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He held numerous callings including second counselor in the Bishopric, Scouting, and his favorite as Ward Clerk.
He graduated from Weber State in carpentry. He was the best carpenter creating miracles with wood. He owned an upholstering business. He loved to build, refinish and repair many things. He loved to help others.
Evan loved to go huckleberry picking with his family.
Surviving are his ten children, Shelley (Darrell) Miles, Roxanne Froerer, Sandra (Mike) Moss, Jeff (Jill), Fred (Laurie), April Palmer, Kim (Leah), Cindy, Jennilyn (Russ) Wilson, David (Joni), 31 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Jennie, his parents, and his brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday June 28, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Family will meet with friends on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 11:45 to 12:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch Park, 1718 Combe Rd.
