Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend Evelyn Annie Harris of South Weber, Utah, was called home to her Heavenly Father on May 17, 2016.
She was born on October 24, 1927 to Carl J. and Annie Jacobsen Harris in Randolph, Utah. Evelyn was the oldest of three sisters, Arlene (Chet) Turley and Marilyn (Bob) Covington.
Evelyn married the love of her life Keith B. Kendell on August 18, 1951. Later they were sealed in the Logan LDS Temple. They had five children, 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Evelyn and Keith loved to travel, being snowbirds every winter in AZ. She loved camping or being where ever her kids were. She loved gardening, canning, and making quilts for the family. She was always caring and cheerful, checking on friends and family by phone daily. She was a wonderful mother and a great example to all. We will miss her till we meet again.
Evelyn was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved people and enjoyed her callings, homemaking, visiting teaching, and many other callings.
Evelyn moved to Ogden, Utah in 1942. She graduated from Ogden High School. Evelyn held several jobs, Swift Meat Packing Co., Clearfield Naval Base, W.T. Grant, Hart Floral, and school lunch at Sunset Jr. High,
Surviving is her husband, Keith B. Kendell; three daughters and two sons, Anita (Joe deceased) Anaya, Roy; Susan (Dennis) Carr, Glendale, AZ; Kris (Dave) Laub, South Weber; Casey (Janet) Kendell, South Weber; and Randy (Domoina) Kendell, West Valley. She was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law, Joe Anaya; and grandson, Kenny Anaya
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 23, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Uintah Cemetery.
