Evelyn June Snoy
April 14, 1925 ~ March 13, 2016
Evelyn June Snoy, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother peacefully passed away on March 13, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was born on April 14, 1925 in Bridgeport, Ohio, the daughter of Clifford Waller and Helen Sindeldecker. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Ogden, UT.
A graduate of Bridgeport High School’s class of 1943, June then attended the Business College of Wheeling. June worked several places but was proudest of her 12 years as the Education Director of the American Cancer Society in Warren, Ohio.
On February 8, 1947 she married the love of her life, Phillip Jacob Snoy.
June enjoyed reading, line dancing, bowling, pottery, crafts, and traveling. She was an excellent cook and extremely talented in creating many treasures for family and friends. Her door was always open to everyone including her nieces and nephews who enjoyed her hospitality and delicious meals.
June lived her life in a way others admired. Her smiles, laugh and great love for life will be sorely missed by those she leaves behind.
Above all she cherished the time she spent with family especially her grandchildren. She taught them many things from making crafts to learning to cook but most importantly she was there to listen, give hugs and love them.
June leaves behind her beloved husband of 69 years, Phillip J. Snoy; sons, Jeffrey (Nanette) Snoy of Parker, CO and Ken (Karen) Snoy of Layton, UT; grandchildren, Monica Snoy-Gonzales of Parker, CO; Brooke Douglas and Deanne Pickett of Aurora, CO; Michelle Black of Rancho Cordova, CA; Stephanie Nichols of Farmington, UT; Mike Snoy, Whitney Snoy and Kimberly Hernandez of Layton, UT. She also leaves eleven great-grandchildren and a special cousin whom she considered her “daughter” Ada Jane Maderia of Mobile, AL.
June was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Jacqueline F. Hamrick, and two infant sons.
