Evelyn Louise Collins Trimm

October 28, 1927 — January 10, 2024

Evelyn Louise Collins Trimm passed from this mortal life on the evening of Jan. 10, 2024 at the age of 96.

Evelyn was born Oct. 28, 1927 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to Parker Samuel Collins and Esther Selma Koenig. She liked to let people know she was a “Halloween Baby.” She came to the family as the much younger sister of twin brothers, Frederick and Howard.

Evelyn grew up in Harrisburg and married Francis E. Sheeley Sr. From this union came one son, Francis Eugene Sheeley Jr. They were later divorced and Evelyn found love and a happy marriage with James Cornelius Trimm, who became a father to her son Francis.

In 1965, Evelyn was working for the military installation in Harrisburg when it was closed. Hill Air Force Base was one of the choices of relocation and the one she and her family chose. She moved here with Jim, Francis and her mother, Esther. She worked in the Foreign Military Sales Department until her retirement.

Evelyn enjoyed knitting, drawing and painting. She was an avid reader and was very sad when her eyesight prevented her from seeing well enough to read the print. She and Jim liked to bowl and go camping with friends. She also had a great love for her pets, and any dogs she came in contact with. Sometimes she had a hard time recalling people’s names and faces but she could always remember her canine friends.

Evelyn was predeceased by her parents and brothers, husband Jim and her son, Francis. She leaves behind friends from her neighborhood and newer friends she made at Sunridge Assisted Living where she resided for the past 16 months. She wanted to thank the staff and friends

there for making her time there comfortable, safe and welcoming.

Evelyn’s wish was to be cremated and buried next to her husband, mother and son in the Kaysville Cemetery. A memorial service will be held Tuesday January 23, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah.
