Evelyn (Lyn) Faucett Langton
Evelyn (Lyn) Langton, 90, died August 27, 2015 at Apple Village Assisted Living in Layton, Utah.
Lyn was born March 27, 1925, in Provo, Utah, to Joseph Carl and Eliza Whiting Faucett. She was the oldest of four children.
Lyn contracted polio at age 16, which left her with paralysis in her legs that required her to use a brace and crutches from that point on. In later life, she was confined to a wheelchair. She graduated from from Stevens Henager College. She was treated for her polio and later employed at the Warm Springs Institute for Rehabilitation in Warm Springs, Georgia. There, she met John Langton, a British physical therapist, who quickly became attached to his spunky patient. They married on July 10, 1964, in Fairfield, California. They made their home in Qualicum Beach, British Columbia, Canada, with Lyn’s beloved cats. John passed away on February 19, 1997. Lyn moved from Qualicum Beach to northern Utah, where her sisters live, after John’s passing.
Lyn has always had a keen sense of humor and a dry wit, qualities that have seen her through her illness and all of the discomfort she had to endure over many years. Though dependent on others for many of her needs, she had an independent attitude, and did as much for herself as she possibly could. She was well-educated, and loved to read and garden. She loved her John, who affectionately called her “my little Lynnie.” She walks now, to greet many longtime friends, and to happily join her husband.
Lyn and her family are grateful for the tender care given by the staff at the Apple Village Assisted Living Center.
Preceded in death by her parents and brother Fred.
Survived by her sisters Helen Faucett Lee, and Beth Faucett Backus.
