Evin Ray Trimble, 80, died Friday, May 14, 2010 at his home of ALS.
He was born September 5, 1929 in Maramec, OK the son of Elmer Everett and Jeane Beaver Trimble.
Evin married Barbara Lou Hadley on May 4, 1956 in Ogden, UT. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on December 12, 1974.
He graduated from Weber High School in 1948. He attended Weber College for two years, and then completed his Pipe Fitter Apprenticeship. He attended numerous seminars and trade schools including Purdue University where he earned his Apprenticeship Teaching Certificate.
Evin worked 60 years in the pipe trade working in many capacities including teaching, and was a member of the UA local 348/140. He was well respected in the pipe trade. After retirement, he continued working as a pipeline inspector completing many jobs in several different parts of the Western United States. He thoroughly enjoyed his many associations made during his working years.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He attended the Burch Creek 5th Ward/old 60th Ward. He served in various positions including Scout Master, Bishop, Executive Secretary, and Elders Quorum President.
Evin loved spending time with his family. His family members have many fond memories of the frequent camping trips with Dad and Grandpa especially to Yellowstone and Bear Lake where he was usually a finalist in the Chucker''s Tournament. He also enjoyed all sports, especially golf and basketball, and loved his many early morning hoops at the church. He had a great sense of humor and loved a good joke. He loved being with his grandkids and enjoyed sharing stories from his life with them.
He served in the US Navy from 1951 to 1955, serving in Japan and California. He loved playing basketball on the Navy team.
Evin is survived by his sweet wife of 54 years whom he dearly loved, two sons and four daughters, Tryce (Sharen) Trimble, Treann (Clayton) Wight, Tarbara Trimble, Tyne (Cindy) Trimble, Talena (Nick) Gaskill, and Tambi (Kevin) Bassett, and fifteen grandkids who adored their Grandpa. He was preceded in death by his Mother and Father, two brothers, Harold and Bob, and an infant son, Tvin Trimble.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 19th at 11 a.m. at the Burch Creek 5th Ward Chapel, 4955 Adams Avenue.
The family will meet friends for a viewing on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. and Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
