Fae East Urry
ROY - Fae East Urry, 85, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2011 at McKay-Dee Hospital .
She was born March 30, 1926 in West Weber, Utah to Harold J. and Eliza Buck East.
On August 15, 1945, Fae married William C. Urry in West Weber. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Bill preceded her in death on October 28, 2009.
She was a faithful and dedicated member of the LDS Church. She loved being involved with the youth and served in MIA and wrote many road shows. She served, side by side with her husband, two LDS missions, one in Detroit Lansing Michigan and the second in the Washington D.C. LDS Temple.
After having 8 children, Fae returned to college receiving her degree from Weber State College in 1964. She then began a 25 year career as a school teacher at Mt. View Elementary in Ogden, UT.
Mom’s hands were always busy crocheting and quilting. Each of the grandchildren received one of her hand made quilts on their wedding day. She was a people person and everyone became her friend. Mom had an unconditional love for everyone and there were no limits to her love. Her children were her life and her greatest legacy.
Fae is survived by her children, William C. (Jane) Urry, James (Vickie) Urry, Robert (Alice) Urry, Scott Urry, Glen (Shantel) Urry, LeAnn (Randall) Stanger, Colleen (Lorey) Walters, Jill (Shane Pentz, 33 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren, a brother, Don J. East and two sisters, Genevie Siler and Nelda Pearson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, granddaughter, Kara Urry, and four great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to express their heart felt gratitude to all the nurses and doctors of Intermountain Hospice, for their gentle hands and kindness for our mom.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 1st at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
The family will meet with friends on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
