Faith Teresa McCardle

November 16, 1955 ~ January 23, 2021

Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Faith Teresa McCardle, 65, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021 after battling a rare blood disorder. She was born on November 16, 1955, in Los Angeles, California & grew up in Hermosa Beach, California, the daughter of Alwin and Mary Calabro Schwab. She graduated from Mira-Costa High School Class of 1973.

Faith worked as a banker – Mark asked her out by sending a rose through the money tube at the drive thru in hopes she would be the one to receive it.  She did and a beautiful relationship began.  They fell in love and were married at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on April 28, 1979, in Hermosa Beach, California. Shortly after they were married, moved to Long Beach California where they resided until 1997. In 1997, they moved their family to South Ogden, Utah, where Faith resided until her death.

Faith was a very active member of the Holy Family Catholic Church. She served as President of the CCW and was awarded Catholic Woman of the Year. She helped to organize several fundraisers and activities for the Catholic Church. Her favorite was teaching everyone how to make her grandmas famous Italian meatballs for the spaghetti dinners. She served as a board member at the Perry’s Egyptian Theatre Foundation. She also enjoyed volunteering in any way she could at her kids schools and around the community.

Faith was quick witted, sarcastic and wouldn’t hesitate to say ‘I’m gonna kick your ass’ or in her last few years one only she knew the meaning of ‘your ass is green’. She was very talented and had a passion for decorating, organizing and collecting lots of Spode. She loved to host parties especially the yearly Christmas cookie exchange, she loved dancing, anything/everything that included Adam Levine and more recently really enjoyed watching Golden Girls and Hallmark movies.  She lived for her family. She made lunches for Mark every day for work, planned family vacations and decorated for every holiday.  She was her kids number 1 fan and top supporter but her greatest joy was spending time supporting her grandchildren in all of their endeavors.

Faith is survived by her husband, Mark McCardle of South Ogden; children, Erin (Chad) Groninga of Washington Terrace, Ryan (Kristina) McCardle of Midvale and adopted daughter Lindsay Rice of South Ogden; four grandchildren and four adopted grandchildren; and siblings, Russell, Buster, and Hope.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Al and Mary Schwab; in-laws Mickey and Charm McCardle; Sister-in-Law Emily Schwab; and granddaughter, Lauren Groninga.

A Catholic Mass service and Celebration of Life gathering will be held at a later date when Faith will be interred at Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd.

Arrangements entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
