Fawn Vanile Burton Jensen
LAYTON – Fawn Vanile Burton Jensen, 84, passed away Saturday, November 15, 2014. She was born January 28, 1930 in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Gerald W. and Faith Slater Burton. Fawn lived most of her life in Davis County and attended Davis High School.
Fawn married Lowell Wesley Darrohn in 1947. They were later divorced. She married Robert Byron Jensen in 1962 and they were later divorced. Both preceded her in death. Fawn was a fighter and showed it in almost everything she did. She raised seven children almost single handedly, working multiple jobs to provide for their welfare. Despite her difficult demands, she still found time to support her children in their various activities and pursuits.
She loved the Lord and her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a wonderful daughter and cared for her mother for many years before her death. Fawn volunteered at Davis Hospital and was a Red Hat Lady. She worked at the Davis County Auditor’s Office for many years and was sorely missed when she retired.
Fawn was a member of the Elks Club and active in politics. She was a delegate for the Democratic Party. She was an avid bowler, loved card games and puzzles, and a voracious reader. In her younger years she loved to dance and travel. Her first husband taught her to shoot with a shotgun and they loved to hunt pheasants together. She often outshot him.
Surviving are her sons, Randy (Cherie) Darrohn, Farmington; Michael Darrohn, Kaysville; Robert (Ashlee) Jensen, Stansbury Park; daughters, Vicki (William) Michael, Durham, North Carolina; Denise Scothern, Sandy; Elizabeth Stahle, Las Vegas, NV; Michelle Jensen, Layton. She also left behind 20 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, brother, Keith Burton and sister, Sherrie Kennedy, and her loving dog, Daisy.
She She was preceded in death by her brother, Wayne Burton, her parents, and her two grandsons, Trace Scothern and Brandon Gartrell.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main. Friends may visit family Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
The family would like to thank the wonderful doctors at Tanner Clinic and Utah Cardiology, and the staff at Legacy Village of Layton for their loving care.
