Fay Stoddart Rankin

Fay Stoddart Rankin, age 91, passed away on February 23, 2015.  She was heartbroken on February 17, 2015, when her beloved sweetheart of 73 years passed away.  Her passing is a tender mercy to a “beautiful love story!”   They had been together all these years, and couldn’t bear to be without each other for more than just a few days!  Even though it is a tremendous loss, we celebrate their sweet reunion!

She was born December 11, 1923, in Lehi, Utah, the youngest daughter of James Alpin Stoddart and Sarah Ann Royle. She married Frank Morrissey Rankin on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1942.

Fay worked for many years as the secretary to the president of Walker Bank.  She was a long time resident of Centerville.

She is survived by her children; son Kenneth Frank Rankin, daughters Karla Kay Sorensen (Greg), and Kathy Jones (Terry), and many grand and great-grandchildren that she loved dearly.  She is also survived by her sister, Clara Kreutzer and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Morrissey Rankin, her parents, nine siblings, and daughter-in-law Gae.

The family would like to thank Bonnie Wheelwright for being such a good neighbor and watching out for them so much.  They would also like to thank Jocelyn, Larissa, and Leticia, who not only took such good care of Frank, but also Fay as well.

In lieu of flowers, as Fay would say, give your loved ones a hug, and tell them that you love them!

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. where friends may visit family from 12:30-1:45 pm prior to services. Interment Centerville City Cemetery.
