Faye Craig Hansen, age 86, peacefully passed away of natural causes in her home surrounded by family on February 2, 2013 in Syracuse, Utah.

She was born on May 30, 1926 in Uintah, Utah, a daughter of Olene W. and Ruth Kendell Craig. She grew up in Layton, Utah, attended Layton Elementary School, North Davis Junior High School, and graduated from Davis High School.

She was married to Norman Cook Hansen in the Salt Lake Temple on June 15, 1945. They were married for 65 years. They moved into their home in Syracuse on April 1, 1950 where they resided until the time of their deaths.

Faye was one of the initial employees of RC Willey Home Furnishings and retired after 33 years.

She had great faith in our Savior Jesus Christ and was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Throughout her life she served in many ward and stake positions. She and her husband fulfilled a mission in the Nevada Las Vegas Mission. They also served as stake missionaries in the Syracuse South Stake and as ordinance workers in the Ogden Temple. Faye was a great example of Christ like service and will be remembered for her love, generosity, and kindness to others. She was a beautiful woman of grace and dignity.

The joy of her life was her family and she worked tirelessly to keep them close together. She and Norman have five sons and daughters-in-law, Craig N. and Joan of Kaysville, Douglas C. and Linda of Boise, Idaho, J. Kelly and Sandra, Steven L. and Mary, and Robert K. and Julie all of Syracuse, Utah. She has 33 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.

Faye was preceded in death by her husband Norman, her parents, Olene W. and Ruth Kendell Craig and her sister, Audean Clark.

She is survived by her sons, their spouses, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and her brother and his wife, Harris O. and Joyce Craig, and also her sisters-in-law, Lizette S. Hansen and Doris Hansen Cox.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Hansen Meadows Ward building, 2500 South Bluff Road, Syracuse. Friends may visit family Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the ward building.

Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery.
