Faye Haworth
February 23, 1937 ~ May 26, 2017
Our loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away after a long battle with cancer the evening of Friday, May 26, 2017, at the age of 80.
Faye was born on February 23, 1937, to Benjamin Herman Henderson and Alpha (Peggy) Lavon Stratton. She was raised in Smithfield, Utah. Faye graduated from North Cache High School in 1955. She worked at the IRS for many years. She happily retired to spend time with her grandchildren.
Faye was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a strong testimony of the plan of salvation. She served faithfully in many callings. On June 13, 1957, Faye and Gary Haworth were married in Smithfield, Utah. Faye was sealed to Gary in 2008. Gary loved to tease Faye and make her laugh. Their favorite activity was playing with the grandchildren every weekend.
Faye enjoyed spending time with family and traveling with her siblings. She also loved collecting Santas, shot glasses, bells, and Disney ornaments. Faye had a passion for ice cream and could find it in every town she visited. She loved Christmas and spent countless hours making chocolates for family, countless friends, and hundreds of people she never met. She kept the Christmas spirit alive year-round through her displays of Santas and her happy spirit. During her last week of life, she made a batch of white fudge for a friend, used her new Santa door mat, and asked to decorate the Christmas tree.
Faye is survived by two children: Annette (Jim) Verhaal-Brinkman, Laurie Haworth; four grandchildren: Brent Haworth, Tyson Verhaal, Tawny Verhaal, and Jaxon Verhaal. She is also survived by four siblings: Gayle Richman, Tom (Donna) Henderson, Jan (Dave) Yeates, Charlotte Haworth, and countless close friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gary Haworth and two brothers Herman Lavon Henderson and Darrel Ray Henderson.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the Roy, Smithfield, and Logan Hospital Hospice staff for their kindness, gentleness, and loving care.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Lindquist Roy Mortuary, 3333 W. 5600 S. The family will meet with friends on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
