Faye Mendenhall

Faye L. Hansen Mendenhall passed away on Friday, December 5, 2014 after a valiant fight with cancer. She was born on March 4, 1941 in Weston, Idaho, a daughter of James Reynolds and Julia Louise Binggeli Hansen. She grew up in Weston, Idaho and graduated from Westside High School.

Faye married Vance Mendenhall on August 8, 1958. She travelled the world with him, living in many places during his career in the United States Air Force. They finally settled in Clearfield, Utah. Faye was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved her friends in her ward. Faye had also served as President of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary. Faye loved her friends, her pets and her country, but most of all she loved her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Vance, and her beloved daughter Sherry. She is survived by her siblings LaDean Henry (Bob) Dains of Brigham City, Utah, Lois (Vern) Rogers of Preston, Idaho and Glade (Diane) Hansen of Centerville, Utah. She was also preceded in death by her parents, siblings Dorothy Miller, Glen Hansen, Ruth Williams, and David Hansen. She also had a special place in her heart for her many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly and will miss her.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at the Clearfield 18th Ward, 151 N. 1000 W., Clearfield, Utah. Friends may visit family from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 9 at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd and from 9 to9:45 a.m. on Wednesday at the church. Interment will follow in the Weston, Idaho Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your local animal shelter or another charity of your choice. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and others who helped care for her these last few months, and especially her friend Phyllis, who has become a member of the family. Aunt Faye, we loved your feisty personality, amazing laugh, and never-ending love. “Though she be but little, she is fierce.”
