Our much-loved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Faye Taggart Sanders passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 21. She was 97.
Faye was born in Morgan, Utah July 20, 1918, the eldest of six children born to George Theron Taggart and Almira Condie. Upon graduation from Morgan High School she attended Weber State College, where she received a degree in business.
Faye was employed as a secretary by the Granite School District, U.S. Corps of Engineers, the Southern Pacific Railroad, and Weber State University (Teachers’ Corps) of Ogden.
She married Charles Eugene Sanders on March 29, 1947 in Ogden. They were sealed in the Utah Salt Lake LDS Temple June 1957. Gene preceded Faye in death by 31 years.
She was an active and committed member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held various callings well into her 90s; she especially cherished her association with the Ogden Highland Ward, where she was a member for over 35 years.
Faye temporarily leaves her sons Mike (Laura) and Kirk (Susan), 7 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren who adored her. She is survived by her siblings Keith D. Taggart, Joanne Cady, and Joyce Porter.
