Faye Isabel Thornock, 89, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 9, 2022. She was born on October 1, 1932, in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Jay and Agnes Averett.

 

She married Clyde Thornock in 1950 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. They were married for nearly 68 years at the time of Clyde’s passing on July 23, 2018.

 

Mom had a great sense of style and worked as a fashion buyer at a Wolfes for many years. Her fashion sense was only surpassed by her great sense of humor, and many have shared memories of her ability to make them laugh. She retired from the IRS. During retirement mom and dad loved to travel and spent winters in their motor home. They enjoyed time in Yuma, Arizona where they had many interests and good friends.

 

Faye is survived by her daughters, Debbie L. (Kent) Bingham of Harrisville, Kathy L. Doran of Riverdale and Lisa A. (Michael) Hansen of Eden; 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde; parents; sisters, LaVon Andrews, Onadel Coley, Jeri Ashby; and brother, Jay Averett.

 

Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 4050 South 3900 West, West Haven. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.

 

The family would like to thank the staff at The Gardens, The Lodge, and Encompass Hospice for the compassionate care offered to mom especially her “GIRLS” at the Lodge.
