Fern Delilah Bullock Crowther
SALEM, Utah - Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Fern Delilah Bullock Crowther, 88, returned to her Heavenly Father on November 18, 2009 of natural causes in Salem, Utah while she and her husband Chester were living at the home of Jay and Rebecca Crowther.
She was born March 19, 1921 in Morland, Idaho to Nathan John and Emma Sophrona Bullock.
She married her eternal companion Chester G. Crowther on February 26, 1941 in the Salt Lake City L.D.S. Temple. Together they lovingly raised three sons. She lived in Harrisville, Utah in the home she and Chester built until their family moved to Ohio for a year, and then to San Bernardino, California. The family moved back home to Utah in 1965, where they built a new home in Mountain Green, Utah where she spent the next forty three years.
She was educated in the Ogden City schools and graduated from Ogden High School. She worked at Stevens Heneger College and at Ogden Arsenal as a private secretary during World War II.
Delilah was a rock hound and member of the Golden Spike Gem and Mineral Society. She was talented in many areas, including writing, art, and artistic crafts using gemstone and other materials.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she served in various callings. She and her husband were Temple workers at the Ogden Temple and spent many years in the Name Extraction program.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Chester, and three sons, Jay B. (Rebecca) Crowther Salem, UT; Victor G (Carol) Crowther, Kaysville, UT; Marvin C. (Norene) Crowther, Ogden, UT ; 18 grandchildren, 20 great-grand children and four sisters.
Her parents, four sisters and one brother preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 24, 2009 11 a.m. at the Highlands Ward Chapel, 5378 W. Old Highway Rd, Mountain Green, UT.
Friends may call at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday at the Ward Chapel 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
