Fern Maxine Simons
Fern Simons, 92, passed away January 11, 2016 at PeachTree Place Assisted Living Facility.
Fern was born in Minidoka, Idaho to George and Sarah Williams on February 24, 1923. Fern was the second to the youngest child. She had two brothers and six sisters. Fern attended schools in Burley and graduated in 1942.
Fern married her sweetheart, Keith Simons on November 20, 1942. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple. Fern traveled to many different places with her husband after he returned home from WW II. They lived in 21 places before they settled in Buhl, Idaho. The family later moved to Rupert, Idaho where they lived for 35 years. In the winter of 2008, Keith and Fern moved to Utah to be closer to their daughter, Corinne. Fern enjoyed cooking & taking care of her family.
Fern was an active member of the LDS church and served in many callings.
Fern is survived by her two daughters, Corinne Simons of West Haven, Utah & Karla Radford of Denville, New Jersey; her youngest sister, Violes Larsen of Colorado. She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith, who passed away January 16, 2011. Fern was blessed with two daughters and was later blessed with 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 14 at Lindquist ‘s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. the same day prior to the funeral services.
Burial will be in the Hooper, Utah cemetery.
