Ferrin Lamont “Monty” Singley passed away peacefully on December 10, 2019.
Ferrin was born on May 15, 1926 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was the son of William Carson Singley and Charlotte “Lottie” Hammer Singley. He is survived by Lamont Singley (son), Cheryl (Kim) Gardner Singley, Karen Singley Roylance, Lori Singley Dean, Nancy (Joel) Bright, and Alex Bury (Steven’s adopted brother). He was preceded in death by his wife Lois Leikam Singley and son Steven Patrick Singley.
He married his beautiful bride Lois Leikam Singley on May 28, 1954 after having served his Country in the US Navy during WWII. They began their family adventures soon after that having six beautiful children. Ferrin “Monty” worked for the Dept. of Agriculture for many years and then for the U.S. Department of Customs where he retired.
He cared deeply for his family and made sure their needs were always met. He was known for having never taken a day off due to sickness! He set such a great example for his children. He was ever the optimist during the years they were raising this family. He worked many jobs, at times 3 to provide for his family. He took them on many outdoor adventures and instilled in all of his children the love of nature. He loved fishing and camping, and his yard was always immaculate. He and Lois took pride in making their home beautiful inside and out. He was loved by all that knew him. Ferrin “Monty” was generous, witty and dedicated to his family.
A funeral service is scheduled at Wednesday December 18th at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. Bountiful, where friends may visit family from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Interment at the Lakeview Memorial Park where he will be laid to rest with his wife Lois and son Steven. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to your favorite charity.
