Filbert David Fresques, 87, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2013 at his home.
He was born July 31, 1925 in Montrose, Colorado to Edwardo and Aurora Quintana Fresques. He was raised and educated in Montrose.
On November 19, 1947, Filbert married Doris Marie Lucero in Montrose, Colorado. They have been married 65 years.
He was a member of the Catholic religion.
When he sought employment with Kennecott Copper Mines he moved to Utah where he and Doris made their home. During the war he was employed with the Tooele Ordinance Depot. He was also self-employed as a barber for 40 years and was a volunteer firefighter for Sunset City for over 30 years.
Filbert served as an officer in the Barbers Union and was an active member of the Sunset City Council.
Woodworking was a passion of his and Filbert had his own woodshop. He also enjoyed fishing, bowling and deer hunting.
Filbert is survived by his wife, Doris; two daughters, Kathryn M. (Gregory M.) HA¤nggi, of California and Singapore; Beverly Ann (Toney Edward) Smith, of Mission Hills, CA; a grandson, Gregory M (Kristin) HA¤nggi, II, of Synder TX; great-granddaughter, Audrey HA¤nggi; and three sisters, Ruby Trujillo, Mabel Trujillo, and Eleanor Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held in Montrose, Colorado.
