Filberto Montoya

Filberto Montoya, 83, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017 at his home.
He was born June 7, 1933 in Cebolla, New Mexico to Alfredo Montoya and Genevieve Aaragon.
He served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of the VFW.
On June 14, 1955, Filberto married Ufelia Garcia in Park View, New Mexico. They have lived in Layton and Ogden.
He is a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.
Filberto enjoyed working outside, helping his family and playing cards with his wife.
He is survived by his wife, and their children, Julio (Anna Fay), Paul (Shauna), Jennifer (Anthony), all of Ogden; 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Chris Montoya, Frank Montoya, and one sister, Rosa Sanchez. He was preceded in death by his parents, three children, Nathan Montoya, Cindy Aguilar, Joe Montoya, four brothers, Manuel, Alfredo, Fred, Eliseo and three sisters, Carlotta, Silvania and Elsida.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Symbii, specifically Tyler Sedgwick, for the compassion and care provided to our Dad.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4050 South 3900 West. The family will meet with friends Friday, January 20th from 6 to 8 p.m., with a Rosary at 7 p.m., at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
