Finn Arendt Thomsen

Finn Arendt Thomsen passed away on August 1, 2015 in West Bountiful, Utah surrounded by his family at the home of his daughter Barbara Ann.
He was born August 10, 1926 to Arendt Henry Thomsen and Minna Rosenquist in Viborg, Denmark. He married Reidun Voyenli on September 14, 1956 in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity.
Finn served a full-time mission in Denmark from 1952-1954. He immigrated to the United States in 1954. Finn worked for the LDS Church in the Genealogical Department for 36 years, retiring in 1990. Finn and Reidum served three missions together in the Stockholm Sweden Temple, where he also served for some time as a Counselor in the Temple Presidency. Following their missions they moved to Sweden for six months so they could serve as ordinance workers in the Stockholm Temple. Upon their return to Utah he served in the Bountiful Utah Temple as a sealer.
He is survived by his children, Kenneth (Susan), Barbara Ann (Scott) Orris, Irene (Darren) Davis, Allen (Sharon); 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by all his siblings, Agnete Jensen, Ruth Skjold, Ulla Harding, Sven Thomsen, and Bodil Thomsen, all who reside in Denmark.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at the West Bountiful 9 th Ward Chapel, 1930 N. 600 W., West Bountiful, Utah. Friends may visit family Monday, August 3 rd from 6-8 pm at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. (due to road construction enter from main street, go East on 9 th North) and 9:30-10:30 am Tues. at the church prior to services. Interment Lakeview Memorial Park, 1640 Lakeview Dr., Bountiful. The family would like to thank Rocky Mountain Hospice.
