Floetta “Buggs” Wessler Wirth

August 4, 1923 ~ February 6, 2020

OGDEN, UT–Floetta “Buggs” Wessler Wirth, 96, was taken home to the sweet rest of heaven on February 6, 2020. She was born on August 4, 1923, in Ogden, Utah. She was left on the doorstep of Walter Whittier and Marie Ingebretsen Wessler. They were unable to have children and they adopted her. At the age of four her mother, Marie, died.  Flo was raised by her maternal grandparents John Olaf and Doretta Louise Lehnhoff Ingebretsen.

Flo attended Ogden City Schools and graduated from Ogden High School. She was an active participant in school sports and community plays, in her youth. She loved to sing and had a beautiful voice. She always had music playing in our house. She sang in the Lieder Krantz Chorus and the 20th Ward Choir.

She married the love of her life, Sylvester Edward “Pete” Wirth. They were married on March 26, 1942 in Farmington, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. They are now reunited in heaven and sharing the joy of being together again. They had seven boys and two girls.

Surviving are her children, Rex Wirth (Stephanie) Ellensburg, WA; Terry Wirth (Christine) Imperial Beach, CA; Jim Wirth Wendover, UT; Walt Wirth (Sheri) and Zane Wirth (Susan) both of Montpelier, ID; Kay Wirth Las Vegas, NV; Sue Warnes (Mylan) Liberty, UT; and former daughter-in-law, Carol Wirth (Jerry) Fairview, TN. She was a wonderful mother of 9 children, grandmother of 32, great-grandmother of 46, and great-great-grandmother of 1. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Sylvester “Pete” Wirth; two sons; Kelly Wirth and Roy Wirth; a daughter-in-law, Sharee Wirth; and a grandson, Daniel Wirth.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, from the time she converted in her teenage years until her passing. She served as Cub Scout Den Mother, Primary Teacher, Sunday School Teacher, Young Women President and Teacher, Relief Society Visiting Teaching Secretary and Visiting Teacher. She loved Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and showed it in the way she lived. Flo was selfless in her service to her family, friends, neighbors, and those she met. She indeed was an angel on earth and blessed countless lives with her love and kindness.

When Flo needed more care, she was placed in The Gardens Assisted Living in Ogden. As a family we wish to thank them for the loving care they showed our mother. We love our mother and we will miss her until we meet again.
