Flora Ann Carney Hansen “The Great”

03/06/1938 – 08/09/2019

Flora had a Heavenly reunion with her loving husband Jack Hansen and beautiful daughter Vicky Ann Hansen on August 9th, 2019. She returned to her Heavenly Father at the age of 81 surrounded by those who loved her most.

Flora was born March 6th, 1938 in Ogden, UT to Marvin and Gladys Carney. She spent most of her childhood and teenage years in Garden City, UT where she met her husband Jack working at Ideal Beach. They were later married July 15th, 1955 and moved to Ogden where they raised four children. They eventually moved to Paris, ID where they owned and operated Hansen Wholesale Candy Company, Jacks Paris Café and the Paris Craft Store successfully for many years.

Flora enjoyed crafting, reading, sewing, gardening, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her grandkids and great grandbabies loved taking her shopping at “The Station”, having craft nights and listening/laughing with her while she told her many life adventures. Flora adored her great grandbabies and loved having a hand in raising them by babysitting them weekly. In her words, they kept her “young and fresh”. We as a family were so grateful to have been so close with grandma the great! She was an incredible woman who taught us unconditional, never-ending love. We were blessed with the opportunity to become closer to her when she moved into her daughter Michelle’s home where we had many family gatherings and adventures of our own. We know she will always be with us and we will think of her whenever we see a sunflower. We will always love you to the moon and back!

Surviving are her children, Michelle Hansen Wybrow (Kim Wybrow), Donald Hansen and Charles Hansen, Her sisters Jackie Kimball and Billie Williams, her nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Marvin and Gladys Carney, her husband Jack E. Hansen, her daughter Vicki A. Hansen and grandson Jacob Sschwitzer. Flora’s kindness, selflessness, and contagious laughter will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A viewing will be held Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at  Lindquist's Roy Mortuary from 6 - 8 pm located at 3333 W. 5600 S. Roy, UT 84067. The graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at 11 am at the Garden City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the family to assist with funeral expenses would be appreciated. An account under “Flora Hansen Memorial” has been set up through America First.
