Florence “Irene” Hadfield-Kirkman

CLINTON – Florence “Irene” Hadfield – Kirkman, 79, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014 peacefully at home with her loving daughter Rhona Alan and friend Coco from hospice.

She was born August 22, 1934 in Ogden, Utah the daughter of Marion George and Florence B. Buckley Hadfield.

Irene married Don F. Kirkman on July 17, 1953 in Roy, Utah.  They built a home in Clinton.

She was a life-long visiting teacher, Relief Society Secretary, Scout Leader and Primary Teacher.

She loved playing the piano, decorating cakes, crocheting baby blankets, crossword puzzles, reading and traveling.  Irene traveled to 50 states, took tennis, bowling, belly dancing, computer classes and two years college course for medical records and coding.

She is survived by her daughter, Rhona Marie Head, son, Rodney Don Kirkman, one grandson, six granddaughters and two great-granddaughters.

Preceded in death by her husband Don F. Kirkman and parents.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 4, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.  Friends may visit family Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary.  Interment, Clinton City Cemetery.
