Florence Kailing

Florence Kailing, 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 29, 2007 in Boise, Idaho.

She was born Florence Hazel Roberts on March 17, 1925 in Uintah, Utah to Alfonso and Marguerite Roberts.

Florence married Charles Rudolph Kailing on November 24, 1945 in Ogden, Utah where they lived and raised three children. During this time she was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in which she participated in the choir, Superintendent of the Sunday School Program, on the Women''s Association and was also an ordained deacon.

She had a great time bowling in leagues with her husband and received many trophies.

Florence was a great homemaker. She was well known for her baked goods and homemade candy, which she enjoyed sharing with others. Florence also enjoyed making latch hook rugs. Many a summer Florence would be found working in her vegetable garden. After Charles'' death on June 27, 1984, Florence became a crossing guard and helped with the Senior Citizen''s Program. She resided in Utah until her later years when she moved to Boise, Idaho.

Our Mother was a very caring, loving person who always gave unselfishly. She devoted her life to her family. Mom was so full of energy and life and set wonderful examples for us to follow.

Florence is survived by one son, Aaron Brent Kailing (Jeri) in Saudi Arabia, and two daughters-Linda (Don) Olson, from Layton, Utah, and Sandy (Sam) Stivison, in Boise Idaho. She had seven grandsons, Justin, Matt, and Christopher Kailing, Randy and Bryan Olson, and Ross and Chuck Stivison. She also had two great grandsons, Hunter and Noah Olson. Florence has one surviving sister, Melba Boyd in Texarkana, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Lyman, Joe and John and her sisters, Marge and Elizabeth.

Florence received excellent medical care from Dr. Perry Giffin and Dr. Fred Badke. The family thanks the entire staff at Heritage Assisted Living for the love and devotion they gave her. Also, the care of Florence in her last few days provided by Life''s Hospice is greatly appreciated.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 5th at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 880-28th Street, Ogden, Utah.

A viewing will be held prior to the service from 10:00-10:45 a.m., at the church.

Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.

Memorials can be made to a favorite charity.

Arrangements are under the direction of Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary.
