WASHINGTON TERRACE a€" Florence Roberts Powell, 88, died Thursday, October 9, 2008 at Washington Terrace Health Services.

She was born December 31, 1919 in Marriott, Utah, a daughter of Pearson Lewis and Vincey Miriam Butler Roberts.

On September 17, 1942, Florence married Marlo Bleak Powell in Preston, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Marlo preceded Florence in death on March 1, 1990.

She was raised in the Ogden area and was a graduate of Weber State College. She lived in the Washington Terrace area for the past 50 years.

Florence was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many callings throughout her life.

Florence retired from Hill Air Force Base following many years of service as an item manager.

She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Florence was awarded "The Woman of the Year" award in the American Business Women''s Association. Following her retirement from the government, Florence traveled with the Good Sam Club. She also enjoyed fishing, camping, knitting and crocheting.

Surviving are two sons and two daughters, Dennis (Shirley) Powell, Wellsville; Dale (Beverly) Powell, North Ogden; Terri (John) Vickroy and Janis Blamey, both of Washington Terrace; 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Preceding Florence in death were her husband, Marlo Powell, and grandson, Scott Marlo Powell.

The family expresses special thanks to Washington Terrace Health Services for the compassionate care of their Mother.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

Friends may visit with the family at the mortuary on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.

Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
