Floy Christensen Murray
September 4, 1927 ~ January 3, 2018
Floy Christensen Murray, 90, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2018. She was born on September 4, 1927, to Carrie Emily Jensen and Irving Fenton Christensen. She was born and grew up in Bear River City, Utah. She married Joseph Geddes Murray in the Logan LDS Temple on June 17, 1949.
She influenced the lives of many people for good. She loved everyone and in turn they loved her. She was a mother and homemaker supporting our father and family as he worked for the Ogden City Fire Department. She was an excellent cook, seamstress, quilter, canning expert and candy maker. She shared her love of cooking with all of her friends and neighbors. She loved planning and running fun family activities together. She enjoyed going to the cabin spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved visiting with her brothers and sisters.
She served in many positions throughout her life in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved the Primary, Relief Society, scouting, library, and leading the music. She was an accomplished musician. She played the piano, organ, accordion, and taught her children to sing and play many instruments as well. She enjoyed playing the organ in the temple for several years. She and her husband attended the temple together faithfully.
She had a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. She loved our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and was looking forward to seeing them again. She loved her eternal companion “Joe” who passed away six years ago. She missed him terribly and she was looking forward to reuniting with him.
She had a positive attitude and told everyone to “Have a Happy Day.”
Our mother was preceded in death by her parents, siblings-Lysle, Nola, Thirl, Gaylen, and Dee; and grandson, Zachary Randall Tometich. We are sure it was a glorious reunion for our mother and father on the other side of the veil.
Floy is survived by her children, Susan (Jerry) Baker, Stuart (Brenda) Murray, Patricia (late Jim) Pitt, Russell (Annette) Murray, Carolyn (Randy) Tometich, and Richard (Tiffany) Murray; 32 grandchildren, and 47 great-grandchildren; sister, Meredith (late Max) Weese; and brothers, Varge (Cecil) Christensen, Elmo (Kathleen) Christensen.

Friends may visit with family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
