Floyd Kaye Knighton
1933-2021
Floyd Kaye Knighton passed away on June 6, 2021 at Creekside Senior Living in Bountiful, Utah. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 7, 1933 to parents Grace (Dodge) and Joseph Floyd Knighton.
On March 16, 1951 Kaye married his beautiful wife of 70 years LuAnn Stark. During that time they had 8 children, 34 grandchildren, 80 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Kaye started his first job at a very young age delivering newspapers and never stopped working from that point on. He joined and served for decades in the Air National Guard retiring as a Flight Engineer, and Civil Servant at Hill Air Force Base.
Kaye and LuAnn loved going on motorcycle rides with their kids, pool parties with friends and family, spending time camping in Kamas, boating and fishing in Bear Lake, cruising up and down the Coast, and countless other adventures. He worked hard all of his life because he loved his family and wanted all of us to have long lasting memories of the good times spent together.
He had the biggest heart and shared it with everyone. From sponsoring a child for many years to making a lifetime of donations to numerous charities including environmental, religious, the care of animals, and always extending his hand to those in need . His generosity was boundless. Words cannot express how much he will be missed.
Kaye is survived by his children: Kenny (Shirley), Kathy (Doug) Gardner, Bryan (Darla), Ryan (Shauna), Donny, and Karl Knighton, (Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, & Great-Great-Grandchildren.) brothers Wayne, and Steve (Sharon.)
Preceded in death by his wife LuAnn, parents: Grace & Joseph Floyd Knighton, daughter Laura Knighton, son Joe Knighton, brother & sister-in-law (Dave & Linda Anderson,) sister-in-law (Leanne Knighton.)
We would like to thank the staff at Creekside Senior Living, Elevation Hospice, and Renew Hospice for all the care and support they gave Kaye over the last year.
A very special thank you to Scott Gardner for all the unconditional love, and devotion he gave to Grandpa & Grandma over the last few years. You are and have been a miracle worker.
