Floyd F. Peck
FRUIT HEIGHTS – Floyd F. Peck, loving and beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather and friend to all that knew him, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 11, 2010 with his family by his side at home.
He was born May 24, 1921 in Salt Lake City the son of Ferd and Alice Bench Peck.
He graduated from Granite High School in 1938 and served in the US Air Force during World War II.
Floyd married Iola Mecham in Murray on August 18, 1940. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden Temple on June 27, 1987. He was an active member of the LDS Church and enjoyed many assignments, especially that of a Temple Worker in the Bountiful Temple for seven years.
He loved doing activities with his family, gardening, hiking the Uintas, fishing, camping and making airplane and helicopter models. He hiked the Uintas until he was in his 80’s, was the owner of “Peck’s Models” for forty years and retired from Hill Air Force Base after 33 years of service.
Floyd was a great family man he always had time to spend with his family and enjoyed every minute of it. He was an inspiration to us all, his wisdom and knowledge will surely be missed. He will always be remembered for his kindness and gentleness and his unconditional love.
He is survived by his wife Iola, Fruit Heights; two children: Dennis (Betty) Peck, Roy; Sharien (Ken) Bosley, Farr West; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 15, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Fruit Heights 3rd Ward, 170 No. Mountain Road. Friends and family may call Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
