Floyd Valdez passed away peacefully surround by his family on April 30, 2023. He was born on August 12, 1949, in Ogden, Utah, the son of Tony and Benita Valdez. Floyd graduated from Davis High School in 1965.
He married Dorothy Fernandez on May 27, 1983, in Espanola, New Mexico.
He had a successful career as an Electronic Technician with Hill Air Force Base for over 35 years, retiring in 2006.
Floyd was a member of The Holy Family Catholic Church.
Floyd was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed fishing with his brother, Paul. He played in local pool league tournaments. He could often be found reading the news or stock reports on his computer. Above all else he loved his family; he was the best “Papa” to his grandchildren.
Survived by his wife, Dorothy; his son, Christopher (Christine) Vigil; his granddaughter, Sarah Vigil; great-grandchildren, Haiden Parker and Hunter Parker; his sister, Lalee Bemis; sisters-in-law, Judy Valdez, Isabell Rael, Rhoda Romero, and Adela (Ernest) Padilla; godchildren, Anthony and Quinton Valdez; and many nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Rita Bronson; his brother, Paul Valdez; and his granddaughter, Jessica Parker.
A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2023, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd, Ogden, Utah. Graveside services will be held on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 South Washington Blvd, Ogden, Utah.
