My name is Francene Stamey. I was born on April 6, 1934, in Ogden, Utah. I have lived in many places including Ogden, Washington Terrace, Roy and Hooper.
I graduated high school and went on to work at the American Can Company. I was a semi-pro skater, and I joined the USWRA and became an officer for many years. I have seven children, Janene, James, Joel, Jon, Sheila, Shauna and Jennifer. I have nine grandchildren. I love to teach country western line dancing and rode horses in competitions. I enjoy watching movies and playing card games. I am very sociable and love to visit with people. During my life I enjoyed ice skating, raising my seven kids and my horses, dogs and cats.
Francene passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2024 in Clinton, Utah.
She is survived by her sons, James K. Cahill, Joel K. Cahill, Jon K. Cahill; daughter Janene K. Linnen; stepdaughters Sheila Robinson, Shauna Rich; brother Alan Clifton; sister Joyce Peterson; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by James A. Cahill, Jennifer B. Barrow, James W. Stamey, Harold A. Clifton, Myrtle Clifton, Blaine Clifton, Zachary Cahill, Colleen Clifton Haney, Cash Robinson, and Colleen Clifton Haney.
Francene's kind spirit and love for life will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace knowing that her memory lives on in the hearts of all who loved her.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at the Ogden City Cemetery, 1875 Monroe Blvd.
