Frances Emily Barrett Baird, 90, died Monday, October 22, 2007 in Clinton.
She was born August 10, 1917 in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Alonzo Thomas and Hazel Irene Scott Barrett.
Frances was a graduate of Ogden High School and attended Weber State College.
She married Oliver Edward Baird in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on December 13, 1939. He died December 12, 2002. Frances worked as a seamstress at Quinn Garment Company in Ogden, and later as a bookkeeper at various automobile dealerships in Layton and Ogden. She lived her entire life in Weber and Davis counties.
She was a member of the LDS Church, having served many years as a ward organist and also as a choir director and Relief Society work meeting director. With her husband, she served as an Ordinance worker in the Ogden Temple.
Frances''s interests were gardening and arranging flowers.
Surviving are her children, Veldon Oliver (Karen) Baird, Eagle Pass, TX; Eugele "Jill" (DeWayne) Ashmead, Fruit Heights; Madge Baird, Clinton; a brother, Eugene Barrett, Auburn, WA; and a sister, Charlene Carver, Washington, UT; 10 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; brothers- and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband and a sister, Avon Bott.
The family thanks wonderful caregivers: Cindee McCullough, Vicki Palmer, the compassionate women and men of Legacy Hospice. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 27th, 11 a.m. at the Clinton 8th Ward Chapel, 702 West 1300 North, with Bishop Neil Read, officiating.
Friends may call at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South, 2 miles west of I-15 on 5600 South, Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Clinton City Cemetery.
